In post-war Japan, traumatized kamikaze pilot Koichi Shikishima attempts to rebuild his life amidst total devastation. However, the country faces a terrifying new nightmare when a massive, nuclear-irradiated monster emerges from the ocean. Plagued by survivor's guilt, Shikishima joins a ragtag group of veterans to risk everything and defeat Godzilla to protect his makeshift family.
